The child of God...In Memory of a Guardian Angel Teacher Gary Pridmore 1983 - 1998...AGE 14

On the hot breezeless night 14th August 1998 the nurses were amazed at the movement of the full length curtains to the open position at the very moment Gary had died. We were not shocked as we knew the Angels had come to take him home, free from 14 years of intensive treatment and operations for Cancer that had spread throughout and Kidney Failure. We were distraught and are broken to this day. Knowing Gary had been given 2 months left to live at 6 months old we took some small comfort that God had 'lent' us this special child for a further 13 years. I could write a book on the Angelic experiences we had experienced with Gary, seeing Angels dressed as Nuns appearing from thin air to tell us he was blessed was only one experience, coming out of the water at Lourdes crying from the coldness which stopped instantly when out of thin air came an Angel to tell me my anxious request for a towel was not needed..she was right Gary was completely dry and warm with one small droplet left in the centre of his forehead. As I say above, so so much happened at times it was like living in another dimension, a dream world. But when doctors are completely lost for words at what they saw, you know special experiences are happening.

Gary was incredible and an inspiration to all, a teacher, an Angel teacher with a short but educational life to all who met him. A true child of God

I think this is a perfect example to leave you with. Gary had been given a Kidney transplant. He had only a slither of one Kidney since age 2. Now the slither was not enough. 15th June 1998 he had a transplant being free of Cancer for 5 years. It failed and started a sequence of internal bleeding coming out of every orifice, pain, hopeless surgery. During one of these Surgeries the Cancer showed that within 8 days since the transplant Gary was full of Cancer everywhere with no hope. As he was being told by my wife and consultants the Cancer had returned the door opened by a Staff Nurse who was panicking that a young girl of 11 called Rhena had a new Kidney waiting to be transplanted in theatre but she was screaming and fighting in fear and would not let hospital staff take her down. To our amazement Gary unhooked his tubes pulled on tracksuit bottoms and went to her cubicle. He got Rhena's frantic parents, nurses and consultants to leave her cubicle and inside he pulled her curtains. Rhena's dad pinned his ear to the seperating glass window. After about 5 minutes he emerged leaving a calm and serene Rhena smiling.."you can go in now" he told them all. Rhena is fit and well after her transplant and living a full life. What did Gary say? Rhena's dad only heard part.. "It's OK Rhena look at me the transplant is easy and he held her hand" Gary came back to his own cubicle hooked his tubes back up then said to all there with sad news..."this Cancer you were saying"......He died 14th August 1998...he left behind him strength and faith in the face of adversity. He also when alive and since his death raised thousands for sick children, truly a child of God
